NORMATIVE POWER EUROPE WITHIN AND BEYOND THE EU’S NEIGHBOURHOOD (EUNORM)
2025-2028
EUNORM –Normative Power Europe within and beyond the EU’s Neighbourhood aims to expand the knowledge on concepts, theories and cases regarding NPE with and beyond the EU’S neighbourhood. The Chair focuses on political norms of NPE and explores the exercise of NPE within and beyond the EU’s neighbourhood. In addition to this, challenges composed by others, such as China, to the NPE is examined in the EUNORM.
EUNORM aims to intervene EU studies in Turkey that focus more on the transactional cooperation between the EU and Turkey in areas like migration and bring back the ‘fundamental’, EU norms, to the center. Therefore, EUNORM is a candidate for bringing back the EU norms into the center in a Turkish Higher Education Institution and raise awareness among the academia and beyond it within the wider public.
EUNORM has four components: teaching for undergraduate and graduate students; online workshops for graduate students and wider scholars (two workshops in the first two years of the Chair); online seminars (webinars) for wider public by talks of academicians, civil society representatives and public officials as well as policymakers (eight seminars in the first two years of the Chair); informative talks on the EU norms for university and high school students by the Chair (six talks in the lifetime of the project; two in each year).
EUNORM is a comprehensive package of teaching and events for informing students and wider public on EU’s norms and NPE and its exercise in the EU’s neighbourhood and beyond it.
